yeah, il settle for a jap demo, if only to sample the graphics and score...im getting good vibes from this after viewing the links, its all still in midgar which is awesome, even saw the church with the flower bed! hope theres a golden saucer too is the main character zach, cos it sure looks like him.

yup, Zack is the main guy you control throughout this game. primary supporting characters includes Sephiroth, Cloud, Angeal, Aerith, Tseng, and Genesis. secondaries would be other members of the Turks and other characters from your FF7 party.

wiki is the best place to get some good background if you feel like a refesh or if you haven't played any of the other FF7 additions like dirge of cerberus ... link

i think ive played through every ff game apart from dirge, tactics and chocobo racing...lol...i just kind of lost interest when dirge came out cos i thought all these new instalments were going to be like that...this looks awesome though...has the original ffvii look to it with subtle advent children styling...really cannot wait for this, havent played a decent rpg since DQVIII and then i find out about this (again...lol) and psp tactics in the same week...thanks phinal

Ive never Played ONE!! FF game, for that, i feel bad , i wish i started playing them at like.....7, that way, id know what to do, but i know that its turn-based, and i dont like that, I like Games LIKE FF, like KH, Designed and developed by Square, FF same thing, but why did they have to put in TB? i hate that soooooo much, makes it feel to much like Chess

since you haven't played too many FF games you probably didn't know there is an option to change the turn based system from wait to active meaning that when your turn comes up that you keep getting attacked if you are too slow to choose an action. this gives it more of an action based element. this one on the PSP however is supposedly even more action based i guess similar to kindomhearts. i haven't played any of that series myself.

parker i've played nearly all the FF games as well, still need to get around to finishing FF5 and i haven't even started FF12 and i'll never play FF11

i played a bit of ff11 on pc and 360 and have to admit that it was a poor experience...and i only played about 10 hours of 12 and it was a jap import and i thought i would quit and wait for the uk release so i could get the ful impact of the story...but yeah, i wouldnt ever touch FFXI again, and the same goes for crystal chronicles...i spose i just get my hopes up with square enix games.....dragon quest is definately my favourite rpg at the moment, i thought it was going to be more of an entry level affair, and it turned out to be amazing and rather lenghty...i would absolutely love a port of this or any of the older dragon quest/warrior titles...i played a couple before years and years ago and they were in jap and i still liked them

i recommend dragon quest VIII (journey of the cursed king) to you twinkie as it has all the square enix elements but never feels confusing and although the battles are turn based, they are quick and painless...and the voice acting and scenery are absolutely superb...cool how you feel attached to the hero and start to care about him even though he doesnt say a word...best rpg ive played on ps2 by far just so excellently paced...cannot praise this game enough

phinal, do you know anything of rogue galaxy? i saw a trailer for it earlier this year and it looked too good for playstation 2...i wouldnt mind importing a ntsc copy if its out in US, as there is no sign of it in the UK yet

Ahh, good, thats how i felt with KH, <3ed that game, but i never beat #2, i can get past the Door, Into The Space part where its just You and Riku, after that, when your in that room, cant figure it out

AHHH I got the demo for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was crap!!! it doesnt let you Heal Other Players, Controls are Confusing!!

it is very very simple to play...you cannot heal players in the begining with spells as you need to learn the spells in order to cast them...so you can just use ygdrasil leaves in the begining...and the controls are extremely simple, i think its literaly 2 buttons(accept and cancel) which is just square and circle...you can even play this game one handed...this is not a joke, by using the analog stick and clicking it to accept...you will not need to cancel once you have the ist of things....seriousely, give the game a chance...you start off soo weak in the begining that the waterfall merman boss seems impossible, just grind for half an hour and dont stray too far from the village then you will slaughter him with ease...the growth system keeps you hooked, trust me

speaking of RPGs ... has anyone ever truly liked using items? i find myself hoarding them and trying to minimize the ones that are extremely needed such as tents and phoenix downs. potions, softs, elixirs are all saved up because i hate going and purchasing more and for some reason by the end of the game i have 99 of each item and still don't ever use them. i'm such an item whore it's scary.

oh and i haven't played DQ8 and haven't heard anything about rogue galaxy. perhaps, p.fresh, you should try one of the upcoming mana games. i played the secret of mana and secret of evermore on the SNES and they rocked ... they were taken from FF: adventure on the original gameboy. really easy and fun to play ... kinda reminded me of zelda before it became all 3d worldish. i haven't looked into the current line of mana games but i think they've been hitting the nintendo portables on a consistent basis.

Ok it's not FF7, but it is an 'English language version' of the Japanese version demo "Mercury Meltdown". It has less levels but is more complex. Requires 2.80 firmware up. And put it in folder ULED90018.

Link here for it : Mercury Meltdown (English Version)

Sorry if this has already been posted up, as I just found it.

how the? how did you get that geo?!

Nice find, thanks Geo.
