Thread starter Forgive me if this seems like a noob question, but until PSN starts offering moves to download, what is the best way to save good quality movies to the HD? I could rip & convert DVDs like I do for the PSP, but playing the ones I made for the PSP looks terrible. If there are better ways or better programs, give me your tips.

Replies There is a program called DVD Fab Decrypter. At the moment they have the software available for ripping and converting Blu-ray and HD-DVD. It's legal, (obviously) cause you have to pay. The files are converted into a beautiful Xvid format.
For the PSP, there is a free program called Xvid4PSP. There is a mandatory install on Microsoft 3.0 Framework. It should work, if you have a Vista. I am still at XP and it has been giving me a bit of trouble otherwise if it works you should be fine, I'm only speaking on my behalf, but you should still give it a whirl. The Xvid files for the PS3 will work if you want to either stream it or download it onto your PS3. But look for those two programs, there is a trial with the Fab Decrypter (30 days), I took all my movies and converted it to the proper Xvid file. 300 gigs ---> converted into 50 gigs of decent quality  There's this little (free I might add) program called Super. It not only does PS3 and PSP videos, but I also use it to encode videos for my cell phone. You should give it a try.
Link You know it's funny I found that software (SUPER) when I was trying to find another converter to use. But the first website I scrolled allll the way to the bottom of the page and there was no link, no file, nothing, how did you manage to find this dj ... haha

On the main page you have to go to the very bottom and click on "Start Downloading SUPER". Then on the next page (closer to the top) you have to click on "Download and use". Then finally you go to the very bottom of the third page and click on "Download SUPER setup file". I would give you a direct link, but every time I try to give direct link to someone it never works. I have no idea why, but it seems like it always changes. Anyway, if you follow the directions that I gave you should be able to download it without any problems. If it doesn't work the first time try reloading the page and see if that works. If anyone wants it and still can't get it to work just let me know and I'll put it up on my server or megaupload for everyone to download directly. Wow! Thanks for all the info, guys. And quick too. This really helps.

hey!!! i have a question. can i watch the movies on my computer after i rip them or does it only work when u put them on the ps3 or psp???

If you have the proper codec's they should play on your computer. Free Codecs are all over the internet's i haven't encountered any that you have to pay for.

I killed it, because Gamer 411 is not dead. Also, just tired of people saying "captain should do ____". We don't need Captain to do anything for "you guys" to post. He's not going to hold your hands for you while you type.

Going to try and bust out those reviews today.. Although, I think they require final approval by captain....so we'll see.
