Somehow either my operating system or hard drive crashed. I'm guessing it was a virus. The problem is that I have an important file in my hard drive (in my other computer) and I desperately need it for school. It's my Geography Essay. I've heard of programs that let you boot up from a CD so you can enter the hard drive and recover your files somehow. Could anybody shed some light on this subject? Anything will help! Thanks!

sorry, I'm a mac guy. you could try putting in the windows disk, but I really have no idea. See if any of your friends from school know how to do it. Hard drive recovery services are usually pretty expensive, so unless you have something that you absolutely have to have back, or if you have a lot of money to throw around, they are not practical
