Now that SonicStage is pretty well defunct, I'm looking for a new music download service that works well with the PSP. Any ideas? I tried ITunes, Rhapsody, and Napster, but they all have problems synching with the PSP, unless I'm just doing it wrong. Plus, they all download protected files that are usually hidden on the PC and sometimes not even recognized by the PSP. Has anyone found one that works well?

For movies, I use PSP Video 9. For music, I use the all-purpose Windows Media Player. If you don't have a legit windows, just go with the old fashioned way. Connect your PSP to the computer, open up the Music folder, and stick your music in there. It's not too complicated I hope. The only reason those others have a hard time synicing is because they aren't familiar with the PSp folders.
It should be easier now, because the PSP has the Music folder in the root of the memory stick. So I don't see what the problem would be in trying our iTunes again.
As for the download service, there are other ways in getting the music you want.
a) Go to the store and buy a CD
b) The internet is your friend

Getting the files on the Memory stick is easy, it buying and downloading music I'm looking for. I do get CD's and rip them, when I want the whole CD, using Windows Media Player, but I want a service to get single tracks. I was looking at Amazon, which has a new download service that lets you get tracks WITHOUT the DRM in them. This seems like exactly what I want.

I should rephrase b)...
There are other ways of getting the music you want.... like a friendly P2P pr0gr4m.
But yea if you want to take the time to put an effort into your music collection using an online music download service is the best option.
There is one called eMusic, I haven't used it but from what I hear it's decent service and provides mp3. But the song choices might be far and few in between what you might be looking for.
