Just here saying Merry Christmass to you all. And a Happy New Year. What are you guys/gals getting for Christmas. I just got my Numark DXM06 Mixer. I hope to get a Denon DN-S1000 CD player and maybe the Orange Box for PS3. Happy Holidays!

Sweet, i told you guys i got money for xmas, and i got one of those Visa Credit Card Giftcard use for anywhere, and i bought a new Daewon Skate deck with FREE mob Grip tape! and Some Globe Focus shoes. still got some money left over too. 20 bucks to be exact, what should I buy? something for the house....

please tell me how "its too short. because that is crazy for a rpg" makes sense?

Furthermore, when exploring the entire game (mass effect), without just beating the story immediately, you can log up to 40 hours on a new play through. I rather enjoy the fact that the game gives you that much freedom to do what you want.

read the whole comment!!!! it makes sense, like i said before your not reading it right, read with understanding!

"dude that is a rpg. how can u play through it 3x already. its too short. because that is crazy(short) for a rpg" maybe this will help u.

ok guys...STOP WITH THE ARGUING ...holy crap.

swhite...i totally understand wat ur saying. I personally HATE rpgs...there too slow...too complicated...to long...w.e...RPGs arent my preference. and MOST of them DO have "pointless" missions that...yes, can add to the Play Time...but really are pointless to the story and/or to the game itself. because u can beat it without doing them.

Digi...ur obviously Defending urself. because u think that Swhite is ignorant and doesnt know wat hes talking about...im sry but stop being an a$$..let him think wat he wants

so much for a "Merry Chirstmas" thread...turnout to be a WAR lmao

if u go to 1up.com and hear the 1up yours podcast and/or watch the 1up show that is what they say about it. u can beat the game without doing them, that is stupid and i do not count that as extra time to a game. u shouldnt be able to beat a RPG that fast!!! i dont know about u, but i think a RPG should be atleast 40 hours of story, like KH or the FF series. i know hard core gamers that took a month to beat ff7 because of how long it is. paying 60 dollars for a RPG that u can beat 3 times in less than a month is not worth the money to me. that doesnt mean its not a good game, i just dont think its worth the money if its that short. GTA SA had over 100 hours of gameplay with the side missions and they were not pointless, and the game isnt a RPG.

yah..as a matter of fact..thats EXACTLY where i got it from....the 1Up show where they reviewed Mass Effect. They said that..and i totally agree with them.

Well im glad that this war is over even tho i enjoy watching people argue it gives this site some spice =)

happy new year peeps (bit late i know) i got spoilt rotten this christmas, especially considering ive been ''too old'' to get anything other than socks and aftershave for the last 10 years...lol

i managed to haul in cod:4, assassins creed and lego star wars:tcs (never too old for star wars) also got 4 series of red dwarf which has completed the collection and 2 studio ghibli anime's plus vouchers and lots of things that make me smell nice

also, just thought i would add that swhite may be a little confused as to what an RPG is, they arent all turn based, moogle fests with chocobos... they used to be tho but these days a lot of games are classed as rpg/action rpg/strategy(which i dont really agree with but hey). when i think of an rpg, i usually associate it as a 40plus hour slog... and i too would be dissapointed if an rpg (in the old sense of the word) only lasted 4 hours. alas, mass effect has a load of side missions which i dont deem pointless like some of you... i think its pointless to rush a game through 3 times when you could play it through once and finish more sidemissions... but thats just my opinion....and besides, it isnt a classic style rpg and is very vocal and story driven with excellent battle system (simular to rainbow six)... decent game and is worth the £40 imho

im not confused at all to what a rpg is. action/strategy/turm based it doesnt matter to me, a rpg shouldnt be that short. i never heard of rpg's that are that short, there only that short for the 360, which is a problem in my eye's.

i can name a bunch of rpg's that can be done in a day... yet i cant think of any (apart from mass effect) that are too short (your words, i think its a perfectly acceptable size) on the 360? i think the lack of rpg's for the 360 in general is disapointing... but all the lengths and longevity of rpg's that are currently available are fine in my opinion

just depends how you play them i supose, if you played mass effect, you would know that it is a game that requires play through several times as there are a bunch of different scenarios with different outcomes... if it was 60hours long then most people wouldnt even finish it first time round, let alone re-play it... like i said, this game has a shed-load of replay value which you dont find too much in single player campaigns these days... if this had a decent multiplayer then i think it would stay put in most peoples machines for a very long time :D

if you can name a bunch of rpg's that can be done in a day, than go ahead i would like to know of them. i know there are different scenarios with different outcomes in mass effect, but from what i heard there not that far off from each other. and yes many would finish it first time around if it was 60hours long, many have done that to many other rpg's, so i dont see why they wouldnt this time around. u dont need to replay it if its a great game with a great single player campaign. i feel if you need to replay it many times over just to say its worth the money, than its not worth the money. i myself have not touch many games i have after i beat them because i liked the game enough the first time i played.
