I don't know if anyone else has experienced this problem but my ps3 will not display picture or render sound. I was wondering if there is a way to fix this. I think it has to do with the settings, since i have a 1080p tv i set the ps3 to work at it's max or at least close to it with that tv. now i'm nowhere near my tv and i can't change the settings back to work with av input instead of hdmi. for a piece of equipment this advanced i would think that it would be able to switch over whenever the need arose.

.........is it hooked up right? lol

just reset the system settings... to do that, you need to turn the PS3 and then do a hard reset on the PS3, press the Reset Button for more than 5 secs. and then you will hear a couple of beeps and the system will turn itself off, do that again when you turn it on and the PS3 should detect the TV settings and cable setup that you have hooked up.

I've tried that but it still doesn't work. is there anything else i can try. yes all my connections are right

Make sure the TV is set to the right source input.

I think I know what you mean. The tv in my room is 1080i, but whenever I set the ps3 and then go into a game or a demo it must switch to a different setting so nothing shows up, it just says Component 1. I just do a hard reset (hold the power button while you turn it on until it beeps twice) and play it in standard def (some games don't have this problem).

I'm having an issue in which I just don't get any sound. I've messed with all the settings and different types of connections and still nothing. I must be missing some key tiny detail.

Ok, i think this worked before.. hold down the power off button for like 10 seconds or something.. it should switch back to default settings.

if you hold down the reset button in the back wont that delete all the files and games on your ps3?

They have tutorials about this at link, sorry not to be mean, I just think it's much easier than to troubleshoot.

Unless you have another TV, try to put your settings for your other TV onto the TV you don't want to use. Then you plug it back up it should be fine.

i have tryied other tvs with the ps3 and the xmb menu is still black and white but the games are in color, i just changed the theme to something else or use a wallpaper it goes in color, but for somereason the xmb menu without a theme is black and white,i talked to sony about this problem and they dont even know whts wrong.
