Unavoidable.. I got the 3 red rings.. I was using the hot towell trick for about a month, and was still playable, but now it just freezes after 3 minutes every time.
I'm going to sell this one (fix it first) and buy a new one..
Some people are saying that the latest update messes up the xbox alot, and causes all that freezing, so I don't know if I should risk it now.. I'm stacked on single player games anyway..

How many consoles have you guys gone through so far? Any advice?

Anyone here who hasn't had any problems.. yet?

Curse Microsoft and the RROD makes so many people switch but i can't blame if mine broke once id be pissed because my ps2 has been around for.. erm.. since the ps2's and still plays perfectly =) and alucard dmc4 is coming out for both =) but will prolly look better on ps3.

my xbox has had RROD, and to be honest, it was probably a good thing as i never realised how much time i spent on it before and it made me do more important things such as spend more time with my gf and mates. there are quite a few decent games coming out for the 360 in a few months... mainly looking forward to army of two and have enough games to tide me over til then.

i would rather have the 360 for the games but i like the ps3's reliability... il rephrase that, i dont like the 360's unreliability...lol, and im looking forward to some of the decent exclusives coming to the ps3... but to be honest, a lot of the other ps3 games dont interest me(thats not to say that all 360 games interest me because 80% of them arent to my taste either) and if im gonna buy multiplatform then it would be for 360 as im paying for the service and i have a better sellection of friends which i have played with for longer and i prefer the community

a final note, i have recently come close to throwing my 360 at the wall and was half tempted to stamp on the open disk drawer becase of all the problems ive been having getting connected and the blades being funny... so yeah, sometimes it infuriates me, but deep down i still love it

lmao, kids eh............. as i said... i couldnt careless what you say...... I know the difference between the 2 consoles... And everyone i know who has either traded or bought the console thinks the same...... So its nothing to do with being fanboy that and this... LOL... Its what i think..

Well, that's all that really counts isn't it? You have fun with your PS3 and the 17.7 million of us that own the 360 will have fun with our 360's. As for my PS3, it really won't be getting much play time (at least not other than playing movies) until MGS 4 and GT 5 come out. Those are the only games that I really want on the PS3. Any time there is a multi platform game, I ALWAYS buy it for my 360. I personally have more fun with my 360. And I don't care what anyone says, the online is much better on the 360. And that's what I think.

To each his/her own.

17.7 is not the install base. thats a shipped number. plus.... thats not that good for a worldwide number... for a system that had a head start, and is going on its 3rd year and has better games at this time right now and a cheaper price.

ummmm, someone used the S word, arent they grown up... if anyone on here seems childish then its you mate, bestofwest is a teen like quite a few of the site members... yet they all seem to conduct themselves in a more mature manner than yourself.

but the way, adding lol at the end of a ''funny'' sentence doesnt make it any more comical... even if you do find yourself amusing
