Unavoidable.. I got the 3 red rings.. I was using the hot towell trick for about a month, and was still playable, but now it just freezes after 3 minutes every time.
I'm going to sell this one (fix it first) and buy a new one..
Some people are saying that the latest update messes up the xbox alot, and causes all that freezing, so I don't know if I should risk it now.. I'm stacked on single player games anyway..

How many consoles have you guys gone through so far? Any advice?

Anyone here who hasn't had any problems.. yet?

360s live beats ps3s online and u have to admit demos shows and all this other crap thats the main reason i like my 360 =)

What aload of tosh...

The only reason why 360 beats the ps3s online is because noone wanted to wait for the launch of ps3 so bought a 360. Live is much better on the ps3... Until youve experienced both consoles like i have, zip up...

besides, you kinda got a point KINDA..but anyways, Xboxes live is kinda dumb, tons of people on there just wanna talk trash

Im not saying the 360 is crap as i had one since launch for months until ps3... i did enjoy the console... But i now think the ps3 is better and ive had it less time than the 360.... Nothing wrong with saying that now is there... LMAO....... :rollseyes:

I seriously have to disagree with you. I own both systems (since launch) and I hardly ever play my PS3. In fact, I'm always playing videos on it. Still to this day I only own 1 retail game (Resistance) because I spend all my time on my 360. The games, usually, come out sooner, they almost always look as good, if not better, than the same game on the PS3. The PS3 has been getting nothing but bad ports (not Sony's fault BTW). A lot of the PS3's games, that are ports, have frame rate issues.

And I'm sorry, but the PSN doesn't have anything on Live other than the fact that it's free, but I have said it before and I'll say it again, I would much rather pay for what I get on live than get the PSN for free. EVERY Live Arcade title has a demo for it, but only a hand full of PSN titles have demos. I can talk to someone on my friends list while playing two totally different games. I can play my own music if I want to while I'm playing any game.

Lets face it, Microsoft is a software company and Sony is a Hardware company. Microsoft will probably always have an advantage over anyone when it comes to software (I'm talking about gaming systems here) and Sony will probably always have an advantage over Microsoft when it comes to hardware. Sure Microsoft has/is having some problems with their hardware, but they're taking care of their customers. Sony isn't perfect either though. Almost at least once a day I'll see someone on the official Playstation forums start a thread about how their PS3 has stopped reading discs. My first though was, oh no, DRE all over again.

I know that it must seem like I'm a fanboy, but I'm not (if I was I wouldn't have spent as much money as I have on both systems). I just call it how I see it and I think, ATM, the 360 is a much better gaming console. Notice that I said ATM (at the moment) and "gaming console" (the PS3 is a great multi media system). Things my change down the road though because the PS3 is a much more powerful system overall (at least on paper).

To answer the OP's question, I've had to replace my 360 once. My original launch system got the RRoD, but Microsoft took care of me and my current 360 has been doing great since I got it (about a year now). I do think that the position that you place your 360 in makes a difference. I use to have my 360 vertical, but now I have it horizontal and I personally believe that makes a difference.

You only have the one game resistance which isnt a very good game anyways, so in my eyes you cant really judge the console... I now have over 20 ps3 games so know how they differ to 360.. With my 360 i had over 50.. My thoughts will stay the same... I have found out about the jumpiness in some multiplayer online games like NFSPS but it dosent affect play. GRAW does have slight lag at times which leads into getting killed while your teleporting everywhere, lol...But otherwise ive had no problems.

Im not denying that sony will or has problems but its a new console and they just need to iron a few things out... I remember when the xbox came out and it was EXACTLY the same....
Like ive said before when the ps2 first came out graphics were really poop but just got better over time... Im sure you all agree. This is going to happen with the ps3. Garaunteed!!!! To me xbox360 is just like my computer but in an uglier box. Microsoft SHOULD be lightyears from sony as thats all theyve been doing for centuries... Internet, etc etc.. But there not.. Sony started from scratch....
Now youll probably think fanboy, fanboy.... But if you check the history, weigh things up. Have as many games as me

if you had a xbox with 50 games, why would you then buy a copy of graw for ps3... that game is soo old. seriousely, the only games that will ever look better on ps3 are games made specificly for that console.. or games that have come out a year later (oblivion for example) the architecture is too funky for developers to make good ports, its easy for a pc game to port to 360 but is a nightmare for ps3

i really think you are just a fanboy looking for an argument, so yeah... you win, the ps3 is amazing, i mean, who wants to play a rubbish 360 with better ports, exclusives, not to mention all the other benefits. i'd much rather be playing my ps3 with dated games and free service and be feeling every hit and explosion through the featherweight controller with deadspots and ungripable triggers.

hey guys i have lots of games for another console that i hate (but can't prove i have) and i think that this console should be way better cause they've been doing wayyy it longer (by like at most 10 years or less.. 20?) so thats why the console that i liek will win! lol im sorry i had to do it =)

ok well i own BOTH a 360 and a PS3...and right now im playing my ps3 alot more than my 360...mainly becasue of the fact that my 360 has been broken for the past 3 months(SECOND time with the 3 red lights)....Due to the LACK of effort by microsoft (for constructing a faulty system) and the lack of effort of myself (for being lazy and fixing it)
But even if i had both consoles active...i wouldnt be using them both anyways...the only game i would play is Halo 3 i guess.

and really. In the Next couple of months, I am NOT looking forward to ANY games coming for the 360. NON at all.
on my ps3 im looking forward to MGS4, KillZone2, DMC4, LittleBigPlanet, and others...

im thinking of fixing my 360...and selling it, and get myself a Wii.
