Well I might be hosting me school dance. (don't worry I'm not lonely) It's for the experience. I want to get a decent DJ mixer. I was thinking of getting a Numark DM1050 but I heard that it doesn't hold up for large speakers. The speakers at my school need about 500 Watts so I'm also gonna need a good amp just to rent. What do you guys think a good starter DJ mixer would be? I'm not gonna get turntables until later. Need a cheap one. I'm still low on money. Under $160 would be much better. Thanks!

the only reason why you'd need scratch mixer is for the toggle switches. other than that... get the 950. If u want to get best numark has for under 150 just get this.. you'll use it later.

Thanks! I'm already looking it up to get one. This place called MOOG audio is selling one for $160 CAN but they do price match so I'm gonna find another store where they'll sell it cheaper. I don't think they'll do price match on online or out of Toronto stores. Otherwise I'll go to some other music store.

Well I've only got some cheap stuff. A Yamaha regular keyboard, a Korg Kaoss Pad 2, and a music source like an iPod or PSP. I'm going to get a DJ Mixer soon which can let you adjust volume, bass, treble, and gain (i have no idea what gain is). Then maybe some one or 2 turntables. Hook them all up. And That's the setup I hope to have by next year. After I'll hook it up to my computer using just a mini jack and maybe come cheap audio recording program like audacity. I'm really too lazy to learn midi. Hope it helps!

You might also want a drum machine or electronic drum pad for your own custom drum beats.

Just to let you know before you try to become a"techno DJ", you can't make music by spinning other peoples records. Figured that is common sense and you should know that. If you want to make techno, you don't need or want turntables.
