What I am going to do here is attempt at creating a listing of known error codes for the PS3 and the PS3 network. The idea is there will be a master list where people can go to see what the code means before they try to talk to Sony support or create threads that have already been discussed. I'm starting off with my first one. If you have others, post them... It you know what they mean or what you did to fix them, post that as well. I will keep this thread updated and hopefully we can start building a knowledge base.

Playstation 3 Error Code List

0710102 - DNS Error; No DSN server available.

8001050B - Will not play demo hard drive games, when blue-ray disc is inserted - Cause unknown

80010510 - Will not play hard drive games - Cause unknown

8002AD3D - Cannot Log into PSN - Is the PSN down? Try manually configuring your PS3 IP info. Try disabling medai server connection in the PS3.

8002b241 - DVI has no audio.

80028EA5 - Unknown

80029023 - Exchanging Key Information exchange has timed out

80029024 - The attempt to obtain an IP address has timed out

80029564 - Downloaded Game will not install - Cause unknown

8002F997 - Can not update XMB firmware

8003051E - Game will not Save

80031150 - System Settings Fail to Save - Possible Blue Screen "Setting information is corrupted.Press the x button to repair and restore default"

80130203 - PS3 connects to internet but not to network - Typically means that the required ports are not open to connect to store but PS3 can connect to internet.

80710092 - "An error has occured. you've been signed out from the ps network" - (connection dropped?)

80710102 - PS3 Cannot connect to the router with current IP information - Try rebooting your router

80710541 - The connection to the server timed out.

80710B23 - PS3 Network is Down or PS3 Network is too busy to respond

i get 8002F997 at all times. I try updating from ps3 it goes to 60% then displays this. I try to do it through usb same. I try with wireless and with wired all the same

I have the above error with my PS3 have come across the below hope this helps all you people out there with this problem, I'm ganna give it a go tonight when I get home, I'll let you all know how I get on.

I put the file on a Duo Pro and transfered it to the PS3 that way. But you can connect via USB cable if need be.

Make sure to follow the update directions carefully, because you can brick your system by interrupting the process.

It turns out that I had a funky update that came on the Ridge Racer Disk (1.02) rather then the shiny new 1.01.

Once I got the update installed the Network Settings option automatically grabbed all the right settings and connected right away.

Ok I've managed to update my PS3 to version 2.42 using the technique I had posted earlier today, but still unable to log onto the internet, not sure what to do next.

A friend has given me router which I now use for the PS3 and I have my pc connected to another, could the be the problem, bearing in mind I only have one router on and connected at once, could someone please help, what am i doing wrong!!!!!!

Hi guys i bought a ps3 a few days ago and i want to connect it to the interenet.

i remember i had a ethernet cable which connects a desktop with a laptop so i used it to connect the ps3 with my desktop coz my modem doesnt have a lan slot . it's an adsl dial up modem that's why.

When i make an internet connection test on my PS3, obtaining the ip address is successful but the internet connection fails with an error saying the connection to the server timed out. 80710092 PLEASE HELP! i want to play online MGO! :D

ohh and one more thing i also made sure my pc was on interent connection.

80029990 can't play disk... I was trying to play a blu-ray dvd and after just trying over and over it did work but for future reference does anyone have more info on what that is.

i downloaded the resident evil 5 demo and when i try to play it online i get to a page where it tells me that it's connecting to another persons system and then i get an error code 80022B13 and it fails to connect and try's a different person... then it repeats,

Hey guys! So I've been downloading the Killzone 2 demo ( which takes like 5 hours to download) and as soon as I see that the download is complete, so I go to install it. Every time it says Installing...Please wait. It stays like that for about 20 seconds and then says An error has occured during the install operation(8009564) I have tried downloading this twice now and so far nothing. I read that you're not supposed to do a backround download, so I'm trying that right now. It might be the download in backround thing but I'm not sure... Any ideas? And pete I'll let u know if not downloading it in the ba kround works.

hey I thought of another reason maybe bcuz I turned it off and on during the download so that may have interrupted it, but the download seemed 2b fine, it just didn't download during that time... Again I'll keep u posted

As far as 80710D23 goes, everywhere I read.. It says turn your ps3 off(BY THE SWITCH) for approx. 30 mins. Honestly, I don't see that being the issue. I finally got this code myself today. However, at the same time I got the code, a friend that was texting me to get me in a game on Socom got booted and got the code also. We are both trying to log in but cannot connect to the PSN. I was first thinking maybe it dropped for maint or an update, but after reading all this I guess it's not. Maybe it's just a message meaning the server is busy or just straight up experiencing issues.
