Someone please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This dam playstation is about to get thrown out for good. I had no problems playing online when I first got the system. It has been about 7 months now and I can't play online without constantly getting server timeouts and error codes 8002ad23 and 8002a548. I am tired of getting booted off of the Playstation network. The internet works fine. All of my ports are open. I have no security on my router. The media servers are off.I have NAT type 2 upnp is availabel. MTU 1500 netgear router wireless g. The system is connected to it wired. Even when I hook the system directly up to the modem I still get the same issues. Does anyone know what the hell the problem is and how to really fix it? Any tech experts or is my ps3 just broken?

I feel to guilty to not reply so this is what I'd do:

- Search the Error codes online and see if anything pops up

-Contact tech support

-If all else fails, see if your warranty is still valid and maybe you could get a replacement from your retailer or Sony themselves if they're nice enough.

From the looks of it Stephen both of those errors are network related. There is no cause or explanation of why the PS3 constantly disconnects under the cicumstances.

But here is a temporary permanent fix, until Sony can figure this problem out. However, it seems the Playstation box cannot utilize the Wireless for both Media server and Wireless internet connectivity. There will be a fix hopefully sometime soon. But at the moment the PS3 can only be used as either a Media Server hub or Online gaming console, but not both. Maybe they have their reasons from keeping this feature unavailable. Anyway I'm talking too much all you do is the following.

Go under your Settings look for Media server, I'm not on my Ps3 right now.

If you have Media Server enabled on your PS3 disable it. That should do the trick. :D

Thank you for the suggestions but the media server has been disabled. I know that there are a couple of people with this same problem and no one has found an answer to it. The Playstation network timesout on me everytime in call of duty and i get booted off in madden as well. Every game the dam thing times out. I am going to restore the system to its original settings and delete everything on the hard drive and see if that works. Do the entire internet settings over with the media servers off. The system was wired to my router. I am going to connect it directly to my modem when it is done. If that doesn't fix it its getting trashed or i am taking it to the geek squad to see if they can figure out the problem.

You discribed my problem to the Capital letter "T". I have been to my wits end also with this PS3 system. But I have come to terms that it is not my PS3 or my router or even my ISP but really the problem lies in the PSN servers some where. I could see if just few of us that had this problem, but this is more like an epidemic on a server sense. You can't tell me that every one in the world that has tried to connect to the internet is going to have the same problem at the same time without pointing out the PSN server continues to kick people off of the network when their systems were running fine before the v2.43 download come out.

I have my system set up just as Playstation recommends, I have my router set up also by their recommendation, my ISP says that all is good if I have internet connection. So it has to be the PSN servers.

So someone please check in to the v2.43 download or fix the servers.

I have deleted my cookies and cache also.

I too have been suffering from this problem with the same Network Error reports but one thing I think might have been overlooked is the fact that Madden, Bad Company, FIFA et al are all run by Electronic Arts (EA Online or EA Sports) servers.

I have written to them before and all they say is that I should open up all my ports and create a new account name (???) but to me this seems like a lot of bull!!!

Last month they created new maps for Battlefield: Bad Company and for a day or two things were great. Then it all deteriorated again to the point were I am really p&*%$@ off.

They say they are a games network. Quite honestly, I don't think they could run a rural bus service never mind a worldwide games service! I've seen a better service at Wimbledon!

But whilst these people continue to 'provide' the connections, we will never have the perfect games session and we will bbe forced to continue using EA Online and EA Sports in order to play.

If they can't handle what is expected of them, why don't they give the responsibility to someone who can!

Sorry I can't offer any help or guidance in this matter. Not wishing to sound like Mulder or Scully, but I don't think the answer is out there.
