I started out by having mixed feelings about this game. I enjoyed the pacing, challenge and twist on the Asteroids formula, but the music and lack of story left me feeling a bit empty. Overall it's worth exactly what it costs.

On my first play, the game thoroughly kicked my butt, which was a pleasant surprise. There's nothing fun about plonking down actual coin for a game and then promptly watching the credits roll after a few hours or days of gameplay. I'm sure some of you wizzes can get through this in a short amount of time, but as a casual gamer, I enjoy the relentless pace and slow progress. My only complaint and wish is that there were some kind of save points. Otherwise you end up trying again and again to get through the various stages in a planet and always have to start over on each new play (that is, when you lose all your lives). Although I suppose this is just a good way to stretch out the value given the fact that there are only a handful of planets.

The graphics are awesomely fun. The weapons look great, the asteroids look great, everything is fluid. I love the fact that this game is in HD. It just feels like a solid game.

The music on the other hand stunk badly. It's all really generic, or at least the first stage. No, I take that back, it's all generic. Which wouldn't be so bad, but it immediately brings focus to my other major gripe -- the complete lack of story. I know that this is only a $10 game, but does that mean it can't have a story? I enjoy a pick up and play game but at least give me the semblance of purpose. Why am I blasting away at all these asteroids and attempting to save these planets? Who am I? Why do I care? Once the game ends I suspect I won't care, because the developers have given me nothing to care about.

Overall, the game is exactly what you spend on it, which is decent. Maybe in the future when they release new worlds they can sell an optional story pack as well.

what? i love the music, totally catchy and i find it hard to get out of my head. Its music that is oldskool, it reminds me of music from shooters on the Amiga and there is certainly nothing wrong with that

And story? its a point getting shooter (with online score boards), it doesnt need a story, this isnt an RPG

I really do have to disagree with you on those two points. Sure, lengevity may be a problem in the long run, but for now i'm enjoying the game thoroughly.

Screenshot reminds me of spore....

i loved the music in the 3rd level, with all the gold melting. I think the music is totaly cool and fits the game, it's up beat and fun. and yes i'm also agreeing with midnight on the fact that you are complaning about no story, for a 10 dollar game I absolutly completely impressed. And someone try to challenge me, I'm too good in that game.

to tubtak: haha yeah it does

back to review: I played it at my cousin's house and I loved every minute of it. It's so much more frantic and beautiful than Geometry Wars was. I love it!

that games a blast non stop action

if you didnt like the music you can play your own tunes which i thought was wicked.....
