Disclaimer: I'm not fanboy, I don't particularly love any system if it does't provide fun.
That out of the way, what's with all the PS3 bashing going on for the last few months? Is it because of the hefty price tag? Is it the perceived arrogance that Sony thinks it can't be toppled? Or is there something else that I'm missing?
Daily I read complaints about the controller being too heavy, having a non-replaceable battery, the back buttons being shaped the wrong way, the box it comes in is too big, etc etc.. What gives?

I think it some negative and positive rumors are flying around mostly negative rumors and the people are afraid it will fail some people are making these rumors because they know it will fail and rather buy something else.....as for me I am sticking with the PSP and PS3 and I'll be waiting for FFXIII till I get it.....from what I seen from IGN the system has a PSP feel with the crossbar navigation..and I love the PSP always a PS3 FAN XD

Arrogance. People perceive Sony as arrogant and out of touch. They overprice thier products and abuse the consumer. They put root kits on thier cd's and charge for everything. I love thier products. The company? ..uh..no.

there not afraid it will fail...... they are afraid sony will win again. they throw around mostly negative rumors cause they want sony to fail. but nothin is holding up. and now if you look around, alot of the bad news has die down because sony is showning they they are making a very good product.

I read the Ziff Davis mags & subscribe to about 4 game-related podcasts, and I've been hearing a wide array of opinions. But from the ones that actually have had hands-on time I get the idea that their doubts have been pretty much dispelled. Two things they all agree on is 1) BRING BACK RUMBLE, and 2) the Sixaxis is extremely light (probably because of no rumble). But even former naysayers are warming up to Sony's new beast after seeing what it can really do.

they dont over price there products. the ps2 was the cheapest dvd player you could buy and it plays games. the ps3 cheapest BD player and you know everything that it can do too. the ps3 cant be over price if sony is losing money off every system they make. and sony is one of the top companys in the world because they make great products at great prices. i haven't had a problem with sony and will keep on buying as long as i dont have a problem.

When I say they overpice their products, I'm not referring to the PS3. They sell headphones that cost .50 to make for $40+. Their laptops costs almost twice what others charge (I own one) and the same goes for their stereos, media, etc. They do overprice. They charge a premium for things. Especially once you have to buy their propriotery format. They do make great products. I just wish they respected their customers.

All I can say is I had a Sony receiver and the product they developed sucked. You can see that they build what they want, not what R&D says the consumer really wants.
I mean not as bad as that. The products are good, but you can see the added layers that are just for Sony. Like how the PSP is kind of proprietary with media it can play. Or how their DVD players wouldnt play CDRs to prevent against music piracy (Sony is a record label too). Or even the PCs they develop.
Seems like added money just for the Sony name and not for a superior product. Strangly, their video game systems have always been a step better than the others. Very the opposite their model.
All in all, I look at every product individually. Just because they make the PSP and PS3 doesnt mean they know anything about ________. So while I'm not really a Sony fan, I am not against them.
Everyone has a nich. Sony has video game consols. Apple has the best Personal Media Player. Lovono makes the best Laptops. We just have to remmeber that a hole in one here doesnt mean they will play well on the back nine.

Lik-Sang killed itself. I was surprised how many years have lik-sang kept selling games. I guess Sony is serious now that its selling its games w/out a region lock and developers will be able to promote their games on the territories they want and when they want.
Although I dont think Sony killed Lik-Sang as Nintendo and MS also had disputes with Lik-Sang, its just that Sony is now the blame for everything.

i agree, lik-sang shot themselves in the foot...they had multiple warnings and they thought they were above the law...dont get me wrong, i liked lik-sang and what they were about, but it was inevitable...sony are not the only ones to benefit from them shuting down, so think about that...and i bet half the people crying about lik-sang never even used them! sick of little kids just jumping on the 'i hate sony' bandwaggon.

It's called envy. everyone knows It's going to blow them all out of the water. you can come at me with all your nubers and statistics, bla bla bla. play it once and you'll know. you may not say so but you'll just be a liar. thay all said the same thing about the PSP, now they can't get enough. The Japs just know what they're doing man. The Sony corp. has been around for ages. they put 3d gaming on the map. video games wouldn't be where they are if it wherent for sony. It's like when all the girls at school hate the really hot chick, but deep down inside they just want to be like her. sexy, fun, good personality, has all the coolest friends. Don't hate.
